The history of Bilbao's most famous turron nougat dates back to the Christmas of 1850, when a cartful of sweet almond treats arrived in Bilbao from Xixona, causing a huge sensation. 150 years later, the fifth generation of the Iváñez family are still selling the same excellent recipe in the same place, at 12, Calle Correo.
